There is something special about La Jolla's marine life and the birds that can be seen on the coast.

It was a great experience to live in California for a while and discover its natural beauty. There is something fascinating about watching the ocean change its colors with the seasons, how this vegetation covers the high coastline like a carpet, and how all these marine animals live in harmony with each other.

The most remarkable being seals and sea lions, which can be spotted sailing among the waves, lapping in the sun or lounging on the sand in the middle of the beach.

The Seals prefer to lay on the sandy area of the beach, slithering on their bellies, but Sea lions will love to climb onto the rocks around the caves; being able to climb rocky areas using their four limbs.

It was unforgettable and a pleasant surprise to be able to witness the birth of a sea lion and to witness all the emotion the mother sea lion had for her new baby, and to see that tender and loving look in her eyes when she is giving birth to her baby.

I can't describe to you that emotion and joy that I had this unique chance, in its own way.

According to Tiffanie Nelson of the Australian Institute of Marine Science, sea lions contribute to the ecosystem by leaving waste behind.

The guts of sea lions contain bacteria, important for growth of the first tier in the marine food chain. Hence, sea lions contribute to species productivity and diversity.

“I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.” - William Shakespeare
